Xylitol has the innate ability to help defeat bacteria in many parts of the body while building up bone strength and neutralizing acids in our saliva. It works up and down our body and inside and outside of cells and tissues! It helps defeat a hacking cough, sinus infections and Candida Albicans – a pervasive yeast that can invade mucosal tissues in the mouth, throat and colon. Research shows that it also helps ease the effect of cystic fibrosis and can prevent glaucoma by releasing intra-ocular pressures. A good list of fibrosis studies on xylitol can be found by referencing NIH research and Cystic Fibrosis by Joseph Zabner, completed in February 2015, at Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
In conclusion, Dr. Hofmann asks, “Why is xylitol’s curing effect not promoted by either our media or government? Why do we ignore what many other nations have discovered?” As stated, the EU’s version of the FDA recognizes the powerful preventive and curative power of xylitol. Is our neglect due to greed or blindness to truth? We spend more money per capita on healthcare than the rest of the world. Little nations like Finland seem to have much lower disease rates with much less capital invested. In contrast our system produces a very profitable drug, alcohol and sugar industry with its extensive and very lucrative retail medicine, hospital-nursing-care and medical-dental professions.
These questions need to be answered before we end up manufacturing a whole population of chronic diseases including dementia, diabetes, Lupus, and other auto-immune disorders. Would it hurt our economy to cut back on both the 6-carbon sugars and artificial sweeteners? It is estimated that income from Halloween candy sells will total over 3.9 billion dollars this year. There are great profits in the perpetuation of disease, bad diets, and sugar use. Can we as consumers allow this vicious cycle to get any worse? The best solution is to promote a fiber-nutritive diet and food medicines like xylitol.
